Picture dinner outside on an ordinary evening, then the weekend when friends stay for another course. The right teak dining set should suit both your gathering and the way you use the patio between meals.
Start with the job you need the table to do. An extendable table adds tabletop space. A folding table can be put away. A fixed table keeps the same dining footprint. Then compare the chairs included and the room the whole setting needs.

Compare the three choices
The examples below use Anderson Teak’s published set and component specifications. Chair counts describe what comes with each complete set.
| Table choice | Set to compare | Included furniture | Start here when… |
|---|---|---|---|
| Extendable | Bahama Chicago SET-29 | One extension table, two armchairs and four side chairs | You want a shorter everyday table and more tabletop space when extended. |
| Folding | Andrew Butterfly SET-35 | One 47-inch round folding table and four armless folding chairs | You want to reclaim the dining area after meals. |
| Folding with armrests | Bahama Classic SET-28 | One 47-inch round folding table and four folding armchairs | You prefer armrests and still want folding pieces. |
| Fixed | Montage Chester SET-204 | One 63-inch rectangular table, two armchairs and four side chairs | You plan to keep a dedicated dining setting in place. |
Chicago and Montage Chester each include six chairs. Andrew Butterfly and Bahama Classic each include four. A seven-piece set is one table plus six chairs.
Choose an extension for more tabletop space
An extendable teak dining table is worth considering when you like a shorter table between gatherings. Chicago SET-29 uses a self-storing leaf. Extending the top gives you more surface for dining, but the package still includes six chairs.
Plan the patio around both table positions. Use the approximate dimensions on the Chicago product page, and confirm exact clearance before ordering if your space is tight or you want chairs fully tucked underneath. The umbrella opening is available only with the table fully extended; remove the umbrella before closing it.
Choose folding when the patio has another job
If the dining area also needs room for another activity, a folding teak dining set gives you a way to put the furniture away. Andrew Butterfly’s table opens round, folds to half-round or folds for storage. Its four included chairs fold too.
“Butterfly” in this set’s name describes a folding table, rather than an extending leaf. The four-chair package does not promise room for four diners in the half-round position.
Prefer armrests? Compare Bahama Classic’s four folding armchairs. For either set, check the folded measurements and the route to your storage spot before buying. Remove the umbrella before folding, and review the product’s setup notes if assembled arrival matters.
Choose fixed for an everyday dining spot
A fixed teak dining set makes sense when the patio has a permanent place for meals and the same group usually gathers there. Montage Chester SET-204 pairs a fixed rectangular table with two armchairs and four side chairs. Its table does not extend.
Check the whole setting in your available space, including chairs pulled out. A fixed tabletop fitting the patio does not establish enough room to sit down, stand up or walk past.
Try the layout before you order
- Mark the tabletop. Outline its listed size where it will stand. For an extension table, mark both closed and extended positions.
- Add the chairs. Use the exact chair dimensions, allow room to pull them out and walk your usual route past the setting. Confirm armrest and underside clearance when tucked-in chairs matter.
- Plan storage and shade. Confirm folded sizes for a particular storage space. An umbrella opening does not establish pole, base or support compatibility.
- Check the complete order. The four example sets exclude cushions, umbrellas and umbrella support. Review the selected product’s setup, delivery and return details before ordering.
