How to Choose a Round Fire Pit Table With a Hidden Propane Tank

Dinner may be over, but nobody is ready to go inside.

A fire pit can turn the space between a few outdoor chairs into the place where the evening continues. The shape helps people face one another. The flame gives the gathering a center. And when the propane tank is concealed inside the fire pit, the setting stays focused on the people—not the fuel source sitting beside them.

That does not mean every round fire pit table serves the same purpose. Start with the way you want to gather, then confirm the height, dimensions, tank arrangement, included components and placement requirements.

Why choose a round fire pit table?

A round shape creates a natural center for a lounge arrangement. Chairs can face inward without one person feeling pushed to the end of a rectangular table.

Halo is designed as a lounge-height fire pit rather than a dining table. Its top is approximately 21.18 inches high, so it belongs with outdoor lounge seating—not ordinary dining chairs. Think of it as the center of the conversation after the meal, not the table where the meal is served.

That distinction matters. A beautiful fire feature can still be the wrong choice if its height does not work with the seating you already own.

What does “hidden propane tank” mean?

Some propane fire pits connect to a tank that remains visible outside the fire feature or sits inside a separate enclosure.

Halo stores a standard 20-pound propane tank inside its base. Its PivotGlide top slides to provide access to the concealed compartment. The tank itself is required and sold separately.

Concealed storage solves a visual problem, but it does not remove the need for access. Leave room to open the top, connect the tank and follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions.

Check the fire pit’s dimensions—and the setting around it

Halo measures approximately:

  • 40 inches in diameter
  • 21.18 inches high

Those measurements describe the product, not the entire operating area.

The current Halo instructions call for at least 60 inches of clearance from the sides, 60 inches from the back and 100 inches overhead. Use the manufacturer’s current manual and local requirements when planning the placement. Do not use a product photograph as proof that a particular deck, roof, umbrella, pergola or covered area is approved.

Before ordering:

  1. Mark the 40-inch product diameter in the intended location.
  2. Add the manufacturer’s required operating clearances.
  3. Place the chairs outside that protected area.
  4. Walk the route people will use to reach and leave the seating.
  5. Confirm that the PivotGlide top and propane compartment remain accessible.

If the complete arrangement feels tight on the ground, it will feel tighter after the chairs and people arrive.

Know what comes with Halo

The current Halo offer includes:

  • Fire-pit base and powder-coated steel top
  • Lava rock
  • CSA-approved automatic ignition system
  • Wind-Sense flameout sensor
  • Battery
  • Propane-tank connector
  • Burner pan
  • Required assembly hardware

The standard 20-pound propane tank, weather cover, seating and styling accessories are separate unless the exact offer explicitly says otherwise.

Halo uses propane only. It is not designed for natural-gas conversion, cooking or roasting food.

Does a propane fire pit provide heat?

Halo is rated at a maximum output of 70,000 BTU, and Ledge states up to 10 hours of use with the required 20-pound tank. “Up to” is a maximum, not a promise for every setting or flame level.

BTU output also does not guarantee how warm a particular person will feel. Wind, distance, weather, seating placement and flame level all affect the experience. Choose Halo first as a gathering centerpiece with a live propane flame—not as a substitute for a site-specific heating plan.

Round lounge fire pit or dining-height fire table?

Choose a round lounge fire pit when you want:

  • A central flame between lounge chairs
  • A lower, conversation-oriented arrangement
  • Concealed propane storage
  • A clean visual centerpiece for the hours after dinner

Choose a dining-height fire table when the fire feature must function within a true dining arrangement. Table height, chair-arm clearance, place settings and dining space become different decisions.

When dining is the point

At Backyard Solstice, the Louvre 72-Inch Teak Propane Fire Pit Dining Table is the dining-height alternative. Its 72-by-48-inch teak table is for a meal and the conversation that follows; Halo is the lower lounge centerpiece for after dinner.

The Louvre is sold as a table, not a dining set. Before ordering, confirm the chairs you intend to use, leave room to pull them out, and ask us to reconfirm current supplier availability and the exact propane equipment supplied with your table. Follow the model-specific manufacturer instructions for assembly, gas connection, operation and clearances.

Halo is the first job. It should not be presented as both.

Is Halo right for your patio?

Halo may suit your setting when you want a round, lounge-height propane fire pit with the tank stored inside the base—and you have enough outdoor space to satisfy the exact installation and clearance requirements.

Before ordering, confirm:

  • The round shape works with your seating plan.
  • The 21.18-inch height works with your lounge chairs.
  • The complete setting has enough room beyond the 40-inch fire-pit footprint.
  • A standard 20-pound propane tank is appropriate for your plan.
  • The manufacturer’s placement, ventilation and clearance requirements can be followed.
  • You understand what is included and what must be purchased separately.

When the fit is right, the reward is not merely a fire pit. It is a reason for everyone to stay outside a little longer.
